Joint Working Committee Meeting held at Hotel Siddhartha, Hyderabad was a grand success.  Com Shanti Lal Das, General Secretary, All India Central Bank Officers' Association attended the said meeting and appreciated the way both CBIEA and CBOU have been jointly working and assured to extend his full support to both organisations.

Com P Venugopal Rao General Secretary addressed the gathering and appraised the status membership position in the state and advised all cadres to put more efforts to increase membership position.

Govt directs public sector banks to relax rules for promoting staff

NEW DELHI: The government has decided to relax rules for promotion of banking staff in the ongoing fiscal. Public segment banks are anticipating large number of staff to retire from active service over the coming few years.

The Finance Ministry has directed these banks to relax the original promotion norms with prior permission from their respective boards for enabling more employees to gain promotion.

Despite such a directive, banks shall continue to gain permission from the government to initiate changes in norms governing criteria such as minimum experience requirement for promotion, annual appraisal marks, suburban/rural experience, consideration zone and service tenure in specialized cadre.
