Banks in Dakshina Kannada district crossed a total business of Rs 37,000 crore during 2012-13.
Speaking at the Dakshina Kannada district-level review committee meeting of bankers in Mangalore on Thursday, J.S. Shenoy, Deputy General Manager of Syndicate Bank, said that 521 branches of various banks in the district achieved a business of Rs 37,132.05 crore during 2012-13 as against Rs 32,342.95 crore in 2011-12. (Syndicate Bank is the Lead Bank in Dakshina Kannada district)
The deposits in the district stood at Rs 23,729.24 crore (Rs 21,268.80 crore) and advances at Rs 13,402.81 crore (Rs 11,074.15 crore) during the period.
