Dear Comrades,

AIBEA, BEFI, AIBOA TO OBSERVE STRIKE ON 20^TH DEC.2012

TO PROTEST AGAINST THE GOVT MOVE TO AMEND THE BANKING LAWS

- FRATERNAL SUPPORT BY UFBU

Our Unions are aware that the Government is initiating moves to amend the Banking Laws with a view to open up the banking industry for private and foreign investors despite the opposition by the United Forum of Bank Unions for a long time. We now understand that the Lok Sabha has today passed the Bill despite opposition and the same may now go the Rajya Sabha for passage before the current session of the Parliament.  In the meantime, our colleagues from AIBEA, BEFI, AIBOA have served a strike notice on IBA to observe one day protest strike on 20^th December, 2012 to protest against the attempts of the Government. 

Since UFBU also subscribes to these issues and demands and has also been opposing these attempts of the Government,  UFBU extends its  fraternal support to our striking colleagues by participating in the demonstrations / rallies / meetings organized in this regard in various parts of the country.

3.      All our affiliates / State Units are requested to extend full support and participation in these programmes in their respective areas wherever organized by our striking colleagues.
